In order to avoid complications & abreactions, use only those products that your licensed professional has recommended to you in the manner in which they have recommended them. Your professional is fully trained in those products and how they work with the treatments they provide.
Using non-recommended products & not following post-care directions will void your professional's ability to help you if complications occur.
Shedding and peeling are actually a side effect of a peel and not the main functions. While a good shed is satisfying, what's more important is what the peel is doing under the surface to remove senescent cells, kill free radicals & bacteria, inhibit pigmentation and stimulate cellular regeneration & renewal. If you come in for services or exfoliate regularly, you may not shed at all! But trust us when we say you're getting an excellent treatment!
We've all seen the microneedling videos all over social media where the person's face is entirely covered in blood. Here's the deal... ultra-aggressive microneedling treatments like that are not good for the skin. Going too aggressive with this treatment can signal the wrong types of growth factors that can contribute to the breakdown of the skin over time, which is the exact opposite of what we want.
We at Monsoon Skincare practice safe needling. Our aim is to achieve a clinical endpoint of light erythema (redness) for optimal results. We will not bloody you up. If that's what you're after, we're not the right microneedling provider for you.
Also, depending on where you live, microneedling may not be a regulated service. Which means that any Tom, Jane or Clancy can pick up a device and go to town on somebody's face. Rest assured that we at Monsoon Skincare are certified in microneedling and that we follow all sanitation precautions, including not re-using disposable items such as needling cartridges and we disinfect all of our equipment in between treatments.
We also do not provide PRP (platelet rich plasma) with our treatments as we feel that PRP is an outdated modality with the advancement of sterile, ethically sourced stem cell/exosome technology. Exosome activity is what people are trying to get from PRP but it's messy and poses a risk of infection if your provider is not following sanitation precautions. If you want the lowdown on exosomes, just ask us and we'll get down n nerdy with you!
Not into using ethically sourced human stem cells? That's cool, we actually include vegan growth factors in our microneedling treatment!
